ARKITEKT I FOKUS –
TIPS OCH TRENDER – The Return of The Lost Treasure At A@W 2018
A@W, Architect@Work is an exhibition concept that arranges meets – network events – between architects and the most interesting contemporary material manufacturers. The exhibitions are organised all the time all around the world, mostly in capital cities. In order to be one of the restricted number of exhibitors, each company must pass an admissions process. Herrljunga Terrazzo did just that and took part as an exhibitor in A@W Copenhagen 16-17 May 2018.
Herrljunga Terrazzo presented its NORDIC Collection, a series of in-situ cast terrazzo colours based on materials from the Nordic countries and is thus a colour range that minimises shipping distances and to some extent also increases durability. Add to this the joy of knowing that the material used also comes from our own region.
Among the colours in the NORDIC Collection are ”the brothers” HT-KJETTIL and HT-LOKE which are mixed using the same ballast but with different – and somewhat daring – background colours.
Herrljunga Terrazzo was represented in Copenhagen by Peter Korpås and Anders Carlehed. Their exhibits were met with great interest by the visitors – mainly architects and designers from Denmark and Sweden, but also from a wide range of other countries. And despite the fact that Denmark has a good, long terrazzo tradition, one Danish architect, when stepping into Herrljunga Terrazzo’s booth, exclaimed “Look, terrazzo has returned!”
